we could talk to you all about how amazing the wild heart wknds are —seriously, we’re obsessed. but, we wanted you to hear from someone else, someone who came to the wknd, someone who is exactly where you are right now —
sitting on the other side of a screen,
debating attending a wild hearts wknd,
wondering how to get from point A to point B in life,
and trying to figure out how to make dreams a reality.
so— meet brianna towne (also known as “bri”). we met bri on tour last year in denver. bri is a wild heart to the core —she’s a mama, a graduate student, a blogger, and the founder of oh mama, etc.— a movement internally and externally for the modern mother. the community fosters intentional living, mental and physical wellness, and connection with other women facing the bold questions of life balance.
there was a time when i was going at it alone. living in a city where i didn’t have any family, any friends, it was hard. it was lonely. i struggled to fit in to any ‘mom’ groups for reasons i probably made up in my head but felt very real at the time. i found it troubling that there were ‘mom’ groups and ‘support’ groups and ‘business’ groups but nothing that was all-encompassing. i’m a mama, yes, but i’m also a woman and an entrepreneur and a writer and a runner and i shouldn’t have to compartmentalize those things to fit into a group. so after searching and coming up empty-handed i decided to make my own.
oh gosh, on the hard days i just need to click over to instagram or open up my email to be reminded of how much other mamas (and women considering motherhood!) want and need this community. my heart bursts every time i read a comment or email from someone thanking me for what i’ve started and asking how they can be more involved. it’s incredibly humbling and motivating to be the driving force behind a movement like this.
share it! tell someone your dream. tell a friend, tell a coworker, tell a stranger in an elevator. tell the shopgirl at your favorite store. just tell someone. it will get the ball rolling, i promise!
